Replacement dwelling, Gerrards Cross.

Layout idiosyncrasies and high heating and maintenance costs prompted the owner to consider demolishing the property and constructing a replacement dwelling built to modern standards.

Due to the house falling in a Conservation area, the design of the new house had to be carefully considered to ensure that the character of the area was maintained, and care had to be taken that the amenities of adjacent properties were not adversely affected.

Overall, the replacement dwelling achieved a high quality in all aspects of design, detailing, materials and environmental standards, and energy efficiency, in excess of the current Regulations, will reduce heating, electricity, and maintenance costs significantly in the long term.
